    Poll

Should we have an introduction to each world?

    World Intro's? Empty World Intro's?

    Post  B-Kpianist Fri Mar 06, 2009 11:05 pm

    ^topic.

I personally like the idea of there being world intro's. Not like NaB, maybe a bit DK64 esque? Maybe each intro could just give a quick fly through of the world (kind of like the Trailers Rare released for NaB). The only difference would be that at the beginning of the intro, it'll say something like "Welcome To: Insert World Name Here", and the music will flow more naturally than the NaB trailer music did.

    What do you guys think?

First time I was introduced to this concept was in Super Mario Sunshine. Usually for every mission you'd see a flythrough that showed you where the star was hidden (or a hint towards where it was hidden). I've never really liked these flythroughs because it kinda robs you of the exploration experience. I liked it better in Kazooie/Tooie where you'd enter a world and kinda go "Where the hell am I?".

Of course a flythrough would show that the designers are very proud of their creation, but for the players I think it's the best to find out for themselves where they've ended up.

well- we don't have to show the whole world. We could just show a small section of it.

Or we could do something more DK64 where there's a scene that shows what Grunty & Fester are up to. That'd be pretty cool too.

    MY VOTE GOES FOR THIS

Think of the great scenes we could do with Grunty and Fester.

The "Meanwhile" sequences were actually my favourite parts from DK64, so yes, I'm all for that. :3

Yeah- we can do that then! We'll need each seen to fit what's going on though, i'll post a topic in the Tidbit board in a while.

    Love that idea, BKp.

I can imagine it sort of zooming out then going blury green then zomming out more to showing grunty staring into a cauldron...I guess the crystal jiggy works better though. Grunty would be watching Banjo.

I'm totally pro-fly troughs the first time you enter a level, however, as long as it doesn't show to much of the level right away, but only some small sections to give you a first impression of what the level will be like Smile
